Denge or Balance is a mobile statue made for the shore of the Uluabat Lake in the village of Gölyazi. The statue was made during the artists residency program for the social transformation of this village, organised and coordinated by Gül Ilgaz.

The statue is a comment on the ecological difficulties the lake experiences because of overfishing and overuse of its water for the benefit of agriculture.

Denge or Balance, hangs at 4 mt. high, is ca. 3mt. long and 90cm. wide and made of metal but light enough to be moved by the wind so it can “swim” in the air. The blue and red colours point to the fishseller's display-trays that are always painted in those colours to remind one of the comercial role of the fish of this lake.
